Guitar lessons in San Diego?

I need suggestions on where a beginner can go for instructions on beginner guitar. I really do not know enough to say what kind of guitar I want to play, I just know I want to learn. Anyone in SD knows a good shop, company, tutor, etc. so I can check?

First - most beginners start on a steel-string acoustic guitar. If you're more interested in classic you may want to start with a classical guitar, using nylon strings. To find a teacher, the cheapest option is nice to put a note in a frame of warnings in the advertising department of local music college classes for a lead guitar. Students will work for them are cheaper and even the latest pedagogy. If that fails, ask the music deparment for a reference - or if you know someone (in this case, what a lame music deparment should be!) then go for the best music store full of service in the city, the one that sells instruments orchestra and band, and the rock-n-roll art. Or, the office phone their union local musicians. When it's time to buy a guitar, go for anyone who track music store in service or one of the national chains (Sam Ash, Guitar Center, etc.) and try all the models that are in your price range (including zero and used instruments Dent n-warrantied if they are - you can get better equipment for the buck that way). What you're looking for is feeling: The Nestlé comfy neck on the left hand, all the strings at their fingertips? Does the curtain right arm comfortably on the body, fingers brushing strings near the sound-hole? When you have several feel-good finalists, have someone (even that for a sales person) to play the same tunes on each, as you turn your back. The one that sounds better, then, is what you want. Buy THAT guitar specific, do not assume a "new in box-stock" instrument, variations in wood grain and will manufacture two guitars of the same model sound different. And another level: as a beginner, many short practices are better than one long one. Aim for 4-6 sessions of no more than 10 minutes to an hour its first week. In 2 weeks, extend the time for a couple of minutes. Keep extending times weekly until you have a session until the half-hour or more, then one by one fall short of best practices. Eventually you reach an hour to an hour. This plan is better and faster, and also builds endurance with less risk of injury.
