How do you fix a guitar pickup / switch?
I have an epiphone SG and is used to work perfectly, but one day, only one of the pickups I was working when the switch was a final pickup that worked well, but at the other end their was no sound, but among them was the sound is not That's why I thought it was the switch, I have this fixed and I think he said he only cleaned the switch, but shortly after it happened again, and I would like to know how to fix it, Yesterday, I opened the back and used a screwdriver to push the contact in a while, it helped, because now the capture of other works, but is very crackly, while one that was working all the time sounds good. I am sure that is quite simple, but I do not know please help me. Do I just need a bit of isopropyl alcohol or something to clean it with? If yes, How would you use it? (I read it on the web, while looking for answers) I have just been using a pickup, since then, but I would be able to use both.
Since the problem keeps coming back, I would replace the switch altogether. They are not that expensive and is a permanent solution. If done well and right, and not the probability of failing you again.
