What can switchers guitar effects can be used?
I understand that a guitar effects switcher can help you better organize your pedals and your use of them. What else can they do? I am running the impression that they also: 1) be used to run the pedals in different combos without having to disconnect and reconnect the pedals of a combination to another 2) pedals on and off without having to step on each foot individually What else are they used?
There are several features these units offer. They usually have a universal power supply that can feed several different pedals. They allow you to select one or all pedal with a switch. Each switch (patch) has an independent volume control allows you to have a patch to be more or less than the other (great to have an impulse to lead). A ability to run more than one amps so you can create a stereo image. The ability to create an external circuit to rack gear. Some have the ability MIDI. Most have an input buffer and output to normalize the signal to match your input amplifiers and effects send and return. Remember that some units are very basic and provide only some of these characteristics, while some are more complex and offer all this and more. Do your homework, decide what you need, and make your decision accordingly
