transposition of the guitar to clarinet?
I have a competition coming up, is optional, but me and my friends want to get some extra credit. anyway so my teacher said we can do any song you want, while there is a score. i play guitar and clarinet, and I have tried implement decode the song by Paramore, because everyone agrees with that song. i have the tabs and looked around and said he was a clarinet and a step higher than half of the guitar in tune. so I've been trying to translate for me, but it does not seem right, even after checking and tuning the notes again and again. someone help me? or anyone knows where there is software I can download that can help me with this? thanks.
The guitar is in concert key, or key C, and the clarinet is in the key of B flat. When you play the note C on the clarinet, you're actually producing a concert B flat. You need to implement all the guitar a whole step to implement it properly. Remember that there are half steps between B and C and between E and F. Hopefully this makes it clearer Guitar: pitch -- Clarinet pitch plan B = CB = C Sharp C Sharp C = D = D Sharp / E flat D = E = FE = E flat F Sharp F = G = GF Sharp Sharp / G = A flat flat flat AA A = B = B (I tried to make the formatting to look better, but Yahoo would not let me.)
