My guitar teacher taught me to use the pick back. Why?
To begin, my guitar teacher is a professional and plays in several shows, functions, restaurants and other places, so I'm sure he is not teaching me the wrong thing. I just had a class with him, and for some reason, I did not think to ask him why he uses the pick that way. Instead of using the term Pointier pick, he told me to hit the strings with the blunt end of the pick. Someone know how it is different from choosing to use the "normal" way?
using the "back" of the pick with the right angle can make it easier to get faster, the tip is to take less in jail. it can also help with pinch harmonics. There is no right or wrong way. Picks and different angles and do different things for you. I use my fingers more now than singles. Sometimes I use coins (as Billy Gibbons weight). Try everything and see what works for you.
