Frets are the little bars along the neck of the guitar to change the note. Slide your finger over a fret, you move up the scale. Most guitars have 22-24 frets. Some other terms are: Hammer-on - a note played by strumming one note, and then put your finger down on one another to create more fret noise Pull-off - the very idea of a hammer-on, but play and then release for a lower note Tapping - a technique similar to the pull-offs and hammer-ons, but with the use of both hands to allow extensive use of the fretboard Pickup - boxes of magnetic metal in the body of the guitar. They pick up vibrations the strings and send them to the amplifier, while ramping sound - the end of the strings in the body, and where the strings are set when you have to replace a string in a head Machine guitar - the mechanism on the back of the head to tighten the strings when you turn the tuning pegs to name a few
