Guitar Tremolo Bridge

How do I adjust my Strat's tremolo bridge?
I needed to adjust it down to drop D so I could play Bad Horsie Steve Vai. I really need to use my tremolo here to raise the pitch of some notes, but I can not move it since the bridge is fixed in the body of my guitar. I know I have to adjust it, but I have no idea how to do this.
Open the back of your guitar completely. Look and see if the block train is permanently screwed down to is that you can not do what you want. Chances are that there will be 2-4 springs bolted to the guitar. What you need to do is tune the guitar to drop D tuning, then loosen the screws. Each time you loosen the screws of the tuning is affected and you need to keep re-tuning his guitar. Get it loose enough so that you can either fold down (lower pitch), but also so that you can pull up (rising tone), the tremolo arm, perhaps a note of 1 / 2? That's up to you and the capabilities of your setup guitars. This can be a good thing for a coach if you are unsure how to it.
