What pickups for a guitar that you recommend?
I want to upgrade my pickups on my guitar Paul Reed Smith, but do not know which to get. I play all types of music.
The pickup combination of classic and most popular in the world ... Seymour Duncan '59 in neck and JB in the bridge. Is a versatile and well-rounded set, suitable for almost any type of music. My favorite is the combination of Seymour Duncan Alnico II Pro in the neck and Alternative 8 in the bridge. The A2P is a little more vintage and has a very "Slash" sound when playing leads, and Alt 8 has both clean and a nice big chunk of distortion. Both reel play well, too, and has similar tones, as well when you transition between them, ie, the tone is very consistent and it is like day and night. I tend to favor low pickups neck and bridge pickups High output - this seems to balance the volumes between the two chicks a lot easier and gives me decent tonal options. I like a nice rhythm tone distorted, and use the neck for leads, and it helps me achieve that. I believe that a pickup output low helps sustain the rope too, since a high output pickup would have strong magnets, which pulls the strings more. Saul
