All you need is a guitar strap (I'd go with an all leather one), some picks (average), and some spare strings. The rest comes later. Look for Ibanez, Takamine, Tanglewood guitars to entry level of acceptable quality. Washburn, Seagull, and those for average models. Johnny Cash used Martin guitars, but a decent Martin will set you back at least a thousand.
