guitar values
What is the best value "for electric guitar?

I'm referring to the price: quality ratio. For example, I know that the cost of ESP is more than one of equal Ibanez guitar gameplay, Jackson is only slightly more than Ibanez. With Fender and Gibson, you're paying very little for the name (although the guitars are good too). I'm just curious because recently I am looking at a lot of semi-traditional brands, which are slightly more difficult to find than those mentioned above. Examples would be Dean, Scheckter, BC Rich, Cort, etc.

I never owned a Schechter, but I've played. They seem to be an excellent value. The fit and finish is great for any guitar, let alone for one in your price range. Fenders and I own an Ibanez and I think both are excellent values. Just like a car, the cost of owning not only the initial investment, but the depreciation. Fender or Gibson will be much easier to sell used if / when you want to trade up later. If not, there are a lot of replacement parts for fenders and they are built with quality parts that will last a long time ... well, except for the whammy bar.

The White Album

The White Album

$14.58

Better known as the "White Album," this was meant to be the record that brought them back to earth after three years of studio experimentation. Instead, it took them all over the place, continuing to burst the envelope of pop music. Lennon and McCartney were still at the height of their powers, with Lennon in particular growing into one of rock's towering figures. But even McCartney could still ro...

Revolver

Revolver

$8.94

Revolver wouldn't remain the Beatles' most ambitious LP for long, but many fans--including this one--remember it as their best. An object lesson in fitting great songwriting into experimental production and genre play, this is also a record whose influence extends far beyond mere they-was-the-greatest cheerleading. Putting McCartney's more traditionally melodic "Here, There and Everywhere" and "Fo...

Aja

Aja

$2.57

History gives Steely Dan's Walter Becker and Donald Fagen the last, hearty laugh on this, the crown jewel in their remarkable canon of '70s Mensa pop. Sneaking onto the charts a half-decade earlier with sinuous, jazz-inflected "rock," the dysfunctional duo's acerbic, anti-heroic visions had been critically lauded for their band identity and killer guitar riffs, then promptly challenged when the t...
