How do I write on my guitar, without stick out?

So I'm most likely going to be moving, but before I go, I would to have all my friends a sign of my guitar my problem is I'm trying to come up with ideas about how to achieve this without staining or whiping out. I normal steel / coat shiny like most). I have some ideas, but I would like to get some fresh opinions, so just throw out some ideas on how I can get this job. thanks PS Sorry if this is in the wrong section ... You can use an ink white or yellow wood they use for sending packets. Looks like a pastel very fat, just paint you cut a little from the top of it and use it as a pencil to write outside the Navy. It is still there after all these years. It's called paint (stick).
