guitar volume problems?
my volume knob makes a scratchy noise when I turn it up or down, making it impossible to make waves with the volume. It seems that the wiring is bad, but I do not know. is really a pain in the but. any ideas? the guitar is only 3 years and have taken care worthy of so I do not think age is causing the problem
Sounds to me like the pot volume is just dirty and needs to be cleaned. I definitely would not use anything along the lines of wd/40 about it. A can of nothing more than compressed air should do the trick. A lot of the so-called cleaning products have chemicals and oils in them it will only attract more dust and dirt. Before using compressed air, turn the pot and back several times ... then see if the dust / dirt is gone. If not, you will need a can of compressed air. If this does not work, then replace the pot. Hope this helps.
