"The support of these musicians is a nonprofit organization that promotes musicians of all genres that we feel deserve more recognition.
It is therefore with great pleasure that we introduce Dan Phelps, a Welsh-based composer and pianist who began composing at the age of nine and began studying piano at the age of eleven.
After receiving a BTEC National Diploma in Popular Music of New College, Telford, England. He then studied Music at Bath Spa University College, where he received a BA (Hons) and received post-graduate degrees in Composition of Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama in Cardiff, Wales.
Dan moved to Cardiff in his hometown, Birmingham, England, and has worked with a variety of professional organizations and wrote music for companies theater and entertainment.
He is involved with several chamber ensembles such as Duo Gjlaci that gave the world premiere of his work for violin and guitar Dreams (episodic) the Whitworth Art Gallery in Manchester, and run it again as part of "Season of Monday Night Musicales", organized by the Royal Northern College of Music.
His work Cello and Piano "vs minimum. Maximum" was premiered by Harvey Davies (piano) and Heather Bills (cello) in Powys Hall at the University of Wales Bangor, as part of the Bangor Music Festival in March 2006.
Dan also had his piece "The Empty Head" for two Clarinets and Bassoon premiered 2006 Dan had his Viola and Piano piece Fairground "Twisted" debuted by Philip Heyman (of Welsh National Opera) and Zoe Smith at Wales Millennium Center.
Dan currently works in Wales Millennium Center leading workshops for music education for children.
