SOLWAY Music Resources, was established in October 2004, is based in the northwest of England. It is an operation of several layers and provides a series services. It is directed by Brian Melville a professional educator with experience spanning more than thirty years. He is using his experience and his involvement in music to provide a support service for schools and the local community.
Support is available for schools in a variety of disciplines. Classroom keyboard is available at all levels from beginner to advanced. Teaching guitar is available to any student who requires a solid basic concepts before proceeding to more advanced work. Brass instrument tuition is possible for beginner to intermediate levels with a wealth of experience in this area .. Vocal tuition is available and is delivered to large and small groups inside or outside the classroom. Vocal work, which is part of the offering of music schools, is an important part of the work done by Solway Music. Right now, a number of schools in Allerdale, are participating in a project for Christmas all co-ordinated by Solway Music. Writing sessions for any level is possible if you use the latest software composition. This also is connected to the provision of Information Technology, which is another area where Solway music has invaluable experience, after working for many years in this area. A number of schools in Allerdale are currently beneficiaries Solway musical experience in all areas that were outlined.
Record X is a recording mechanism, which is part of the Solway Music and is available for recording projects large and small. A variety of recording programs available, including Logic Audio, Steinberg Nuendo and Cubase VST. Burning projects can be done "in house" or on site. Working with Our Lady and St.Patrick 's Junior School in Maryport, Solway Music in collaberation with Loose Records in 2005 released a CD entitled "Mom, I'm here. "He had the students in St.Patricks 18 tracks of popular songs and proved a big hit with students, parents and teachers. The recent release, in Loose Records and recorded in Record X, is a nursery rhyme CD ... "Diddle Diddle Doodle Doo" - 22 traditional nursery rhymes and Child songs in modern environments, all sung by Caroline Sweeney. A second album of nursery rhymes is in production right now and will appear in 2006. It will include some tracks little heard and unusual, and will again feature vocalist Caroline Sweeney.
Looking for a new version in 2006 - "Touchdown in Tokyo" to add to the album of Christmas songs that was mentioned earlier. Now available are two CDs of jazz.
"Interlude" By Brian Melville and sung by Ronnie Walker also recorded in the Record X.

"Swingthing" which is run by Solway Music, is a jazz 4 / 5 / piece swing band, which is available for weddings, parties, functions and corporate events. The band specializes in jazz and swing in the "Rat Pack" style, but is equally at ease working in a variety of genres.
