guitar wood dye
Adding color to the grain of wood decor guitar ...?

When it comes to guitars, dyes will bring out the value of timber more dramatic than color laquers? For example, consider the highly figured quilted maple or curly maple that you see on custom guitars. Any information useful and relavant is welcome. Thank you. If it makes a difference in your advice, I must say that I want to buy some highly figured quilted maple wood, dye it a deep emerald green, then spray with laqcuer nitrocellulose clear coat.

There is a new technique that we have been testing that uses both a dye and color lacquer finish. For emerald, you first would sand the body of 600 grains and quickly apply and remove black stain wood making sure to apply evenly. Let the stain dry and rub it with wool 000 non-metallic, again careful to keep even a color ... At this point, the black should be only in the "Loose" pieces of wood. Apply base paint, then clear, and you're ready to go
