guitar wrist brace
Sore wrist "Flexor Tenosynovitis?

I played guitar for years and, apparently, was slowly injuring my left (fretting hand) pulse. Two months ago I felt a sharp pain when bending a note. I quit playing immediately, but the wrist was more sore the next day. I have a referral for physiotherapy and was twice a week for almost 2 months. I just have to see a hand specialist who said othopedic I have Flexor Tenosynovitis. Ive been prescribing anti-inflamitories (diclofenac sodium), the treatment of cortisone via phono phoresis, a liniment with capisin and an anti-inflmamitory, a wrist strap and a lot of ice, but very little improvement. I still can not hold a glass of water handed without pain. Playing the guitar that he is out of question. The orthopedic surgeon said last week in follow-up visit that he thinks my nerve ULNERABILITIES is part of the equation, so now I'm sleeping in a splint arm long term. Does anyone have any advice? I should MRI or anything else?

As a physiotherapist, I would recommend iontophoresis (eye-to-foot and four-eee-sis) instead of phonophoresis and see how the latter has not been shown as effective as before. Iontophoresis is the process in which an anti-inflammatory medicine is conducted through the skin into the tissue under a low electrical current. Your treatment should include stretching of the tendons and nerves slips, the mobilization of the wrist, the mobilization of soft tissues, iontophoresis, and strengthening of light. A MRI would be to check the medical diagnosis or possibly show whether there is another problem that was diagnosed. It is an expensive test, but it's worth if you or your medical professionals think that something has been lost.
