Guitar Y Cable

What kind of guitar should I get? And when?
Hey, I know that many of these questions in Y! A, but I wanted it to be personal. I been playing guitar for 5 months at school (elective) and I think I want to play the electric guitar. First, what kind of guitar is good? My preference would probably be: Kinda on the underside, as far as action, Nice rock or metal sound that I kinda chubby fingers so I do not know what could help w / that as far as playing-wise I think thats it. And it would be nice to have an amplifier, cables and tape. So that brings me to another question: what kind of equipment do I start? (I: E AMP) and when I start all? Should I Get It Now and get used to it or wait until I have more experience and more familiar with all the chords? and a total price would be good too P = 10 points for best answer and sorry it was so long ago. I apologize. I'm 13 if that helps any. I like to sit when I play, but I'll stay if I have what
