Although the precise origin of the classical guitar are open to debate, there is plenty of evidence of the existence of similar instruments that date back to 5000 years ago. The idea of a hollow body with strings strained anchored between two points is seen in many instruments including the violin family, harp, piano and harp; they all use the string's vibrations to resonate sounds of the body and produce. However, because the guitar is fretted, it allows pitch perfect chords to be played more six strings, which differentiates it from the unfretted (and often bowed) violin family. The guitar as we know it today began to take shape during the Renaissance period to list them all, but to give a guitar with a single definition, it would be six-string, fretted instrument tuned between low E (a thirteenth below middle C) and E two octaves above. Of course - these are just the open string tunings. Notes approaching two octaves above that can be achieved by fretting. This tuning to set the guitar to be represented in the treble, but with three lines of the book for the lowest notes.
Playing the Classical Guitar
The classical guitar is played in a seated position, the curvilinear shape of the body helping to keep it stable resting on the thigh. Right-handed players fret with the left hand and pull with your right, and the highest tone sequences are closer to the ground. If a purely rhythmic sound is required, the guitar can be played with a plectrum strummed on all or some of the strings, the reed can also be used to choose the tunes ringtones. More expert players will use their fingers, however. This allows very complex music to be played, with bass notes and melodies plating simultaneously. In the hands of a true virtuoso, it can sound to the untrained ear how many musicians are playing at the same time. Tabs can still be played with the fingers or pull several sequences simultaneously with multiple fingers or caressing the strings and take advantage of the instrument to sustain. Playing with the fingernails gives a sharp, almost harsh sound, while playing with the front soft finger gives a tone smoother.
Composers of music for classical guitar
The rich history of the guitar and its ancestors which means that many composers wrote music that can be played on a modern guitar, with some degree of success. JS Bach is perhaps the best known, and his many works written for the lute and even the cello violin and have found their way into the repertoire of classical guitarist. Bach was preceded by Dowland and Narvaez, Scarlatti and his contemporaries wrote some songs durable that works well on guitar. In more modern times, Villa-Lobos, Rodrigo and Segovia have written music specifically to be played on guitar, and tune Stanley Myers classical guitar theme from The Deer Hunter proved to be extremely popular.
