What are good ways to make a solid competitive application to medical school?

What kind of things do you think I could do to improve my chances of getting into medical school? Do you think I should join more clubs, do more medically related things (if you have any recommendations it would be great) that I could do to improve my chances at getting in med school? I'm trying to be an EMT now, but I have a balance that 25 hours / week work and one other course that I'm thinking of dropping it, because I can not handle it and I do not want before burnout lead to organic chemistry in the fall. How much my personal relevant information ... I am a sophomore at Quinnipiac University with a major in biology. I have a GPA of 3.74, and I work in a hospital (delivering trays of food), and hopefully next year I'll be doing medical research at Maine Medical Center. I am in the pre-club health in my school too. Extracurricular activities include: playing jazz guitar (it was all back in the state hs) and tennis (not good enough for the team, but won intramurals D1!) THANKS!

Clubs not really matter to medical schools. Admission to medical schools are not like college. The TRE that are only biomedical research and volunteering in medical institutions. Being an EMT would be an excellent way to demonstrate your commitment with the medical field and a way to show that you know what is involved and you just do not have romantic ideas about being a doctor. If the school care is your goal you may have to move other things in your life around. May reduce the work of 25 hours / week for a 15 hr / week of work (if you can afford it) so you can complete your training EMT. Short of that, you can offer in a hospital, perhaps the shade of a physician (specialty does not matter) and try to start doing meaningful tasks. Medical research is an excellent way to get in, there will soon be a lack of physician-scientists and they need to fill the gap. Doing research on signs of college you would be open to doing medical research later. Also, look for programs summer that will allow you to shadow doctors in hospitals or work (or both) during the summer, possibly combining it with the research. There are tons of programs biomedical summer, and they usually provide you with housing, food and transportation and pay him a good salary. Go to the National Science Foundation website or Google "research biomedical summer graduation "to start to find them. Otherwise, do as well as you possibly can in all its PreReqs, especially chemistry and biology-Start studying for the MCAT early, and consult with their teachers about the best time for you to bring you your favorite Research medical schools early and look for the profile of the entering class. See if your pre-health club or any teachers you can get in touch with the students in your school who have gone to medical school
