opinions of the bass guitar?

What is your opinion on the low? people in my school and just around that I said it seems that low can not much respect as he does. I'm a bass player you know me and my friends always try to make their amps louder than mine and I kinda drone and I know they are playing, but they make jokes about having two guitar players stand in front of the drummer going crazy and being great, then did not play my bass all the way in the back seat and just playing just my little bass line? i do not know, maybe it's just me, your opinions?

I am a music major, who plays guitar. The bass is so important for the music, and dictates the pace and keep the music moving along a given time. The low helps a lot of professional bands as well. For a long time Metallica has a bass player, but when I have one that made their sound much larger and better sound around. I agree with you, people are misinformed about the serious and is a very important tool. If you do not believe me then go to youtube and search for "Victor Wooten. He is one of the greatest bass player in the world. Hope this information with your friends will see the importance of the bass guitar in music.
