metal guitar eq settings
I've been playing guitar metal 4 about a year, but can never get a good sound. suggestions?

I have a Laney GC 50 and MT-2. any suggestion or eq settings? i play bands like Hatebreed AILD AD2R BLS and so on

Ok man, the thing is simple: Shit in = shit out That means that the sound coming your amplifier is the last part of a chain and you should verify that each part of the chain carefully to detect where the problem lies. 01. You> 02. Instrument> 03. Gear> 04. 01 Amp. You The most important part. If you do not have a good technique and polished, everything is a mess gona sound no matter the state of the art of art you have. String and a lock picking technique is solid prove to have a good Soun, enven if you play with tons of distortion. 02. No Instrument is the same game with a guitar stratocaster El Cheapo than 3000 USD Custom Made BC Rich. The instrument is a vital part of your sound. For the type of music you want to emulate I advice you to get a Gibson or a PRS, both axes have a lot of wood and give you sound thick and heavy. For other types of music, as death metal, I'll buy a Jackson. Now, on the technical side, it is important to protect your instrument against noise, which includes the shield plate, the cavity the tremolo and the circuits. Rememeber to always have fresh strings on your guitar (change them every month). A 09 gauge is too weak for me, I prefer the 010 with an E tuning pattern. This gives me more consistency on the ropes and more able to stand on pieces of lead. 03. Gear Cables, stomp boxes, preamps affect your sound onw or otherwise. I always think a good cable is a must if you want a clean sound and powerful. Invest in a final monster gold or Mogami cable. These cables are sielded against noise undesirable conduct and sound better than any other. You will notice the difference immediately. Regarding stomp boxes, I had a Boss MT-2 and used a lot, but after a time I noticed that the sound is a bit thin and harshy. My advice is to avoid the pedals and try to get a good amplifier. 04. Amp I assure Hatebreed playing with a tube amplifier. You has a transistor. The distortion from a saturated valve is rich and warm. This is why I avoid these days stomp boxes. Check out eBay, there is a great amount of deals on amps. My recommendation, Peavey Bravo 112. If you have a abig portfolio, get a Mesa Boogie Triple Rectifier head with cell or an ENGL Fireball head with the stack. These babies deliver an insane amount of disotrtion delicious, perfect for the sound you're willing clone. Hope this helps, I I have played more than ten years and tried a lot of settings and this is my personal experience with it.
