I need help with my guitar rock band?

When I pick up my guitar to overdrive or press Select, it does not work. Wave guitar in any direction u could think of. Then I press start, and continue, and it works. This is annoying and makes me lose a couple of notes. Any way Can I fix this?

Just register with the EA and inform the guitar as defective
