The best way to learn to play guitar?

My wife and kids bought a guitar for me for Father's Day. I never really played so I'm wondering what is the best way to learn to play. These lessons were the fastest route, or are there some books or DVD's would you recommend for a beginner? Recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Classes are by far the best way, especially for the beginner rank. In addition to getting you started on the right track, he or she will be able to respond to a myriad of issues that I guarantee you will have, as a way of tuning, changing strings, and so on. Good luck. Keep practicing!

makes the guitar left-handed Epiphone Dove come? What are your opinioins overal guitar on you?

thinking about buying this guitar, but I'm left-handed, everything more difficult. does this guitar is left handed? what you're advice or review of this guitar (if you own and play it)?

I looked around and I can not find it anywhere they sell left-handed. I have owned this guitar before for my sister gave him when I have a Daisy Rock guitar. The sound quality on the Epiphone Dove was excellent and was very fun to play, but when I got more technical material on the frets of the guitar was great for me to reach all that is why I have a daisy rock guitar. The frets on Daisy Rock guitars are easier for me to get it all. I guess it just depends on the person. Vince Gill Tickets – Gill And Grant Celebrate 10-Year Anniversary

Some couples were just made in music heaven, and such is the case with Vince Gill and Amy Grant. Vince Gill is a versatile country star who has remained relevant over many years, and Amy Grant was a hit maker in her own right during the late 1980s and 1990s. On March 10, the musical duo celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary, remembering their Nashville nuptials in 2000. They have been collaborating on charities ever since.

His wedding anniversary isn’t the only thing Vince Gill has to celebrate lately. On Feb. 27, Vince Gill made an impromptu appearance onstage with guitar legend Eric Clapton. The dream gig happened when Clapton had a concert at Nashville’s Sommet Center, and Clapton was partway through his acoustic set when he called Gill up to the stage. The two played four songs together: “Nobody Knows You When You’re Down and Out,” “Running Faith,” “I’ve Got a Rock and Roll Heart” and “Layla,” before Gill stepped off the stage, but he came back at the end for “Crossroads.” Gill and Clapton will meet up again on June 26 at Toyota Park in Chicago at Clapton’s Crossroads Guitar Festival. Other celebrities to join in include Jeff Beck, Sheryl Crow and Buddy Guy.

Even though he has notched many country-pop hits on the charts, Gill is also widely respected for his guitar skills. The National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum (AKA the Cowboy Hall of Fame) in Oklahoma City opened a guitar exhibit in March, which displayed guitars used by country greats like Garth Brooks, Toby Keith and Marty Robbins. Vince Gill also has a guitar on display, and GATV quoted Gill explaining his history with the instrument: “I got my own guitar when I was 10, but until then, that was the guitar that I tried to learn on. [Dad] had two guitars. That’s the one I was always drawn to, to try to learn to play. I think it’s got to be the first instrument I ever remember seeing.”

The best way to experience Gill’s music is to get Vince Gill tickets for his tour, which are available at StubHub.com, but those visiting Nashville’s famed Station Inn may get lucky on some Monday nights. Gill has committed to taking the stage with the western swing band the Time Jumpers on Monday nights at the Station Inn whenever he isn’t on tour. The appearances will be quite the steal for fans who want to see Gill, as the cover charge is only $10. Of course, it will be different from seeing Vince live in concert, as he is known for putting on quite a show.

Gill is also lending his voice for two worthy causes. Vince Gill and Amy Grant both took part of the single “Come Together Now” to raise money for Haiti relief. The single was organized by Michael W. Smith and included many celebrities like Wynonna, Steven Curtis Chapman, Toby Mac and many more. Gill’s song “Go Rest High on That Mountain” will also be part of a new release called Sunday in the Country: 12 Inspiring Hits From Today’s Top Country Artists. The album will benefit the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum and also includes Trace Adkins, Alabama, Diamond Rio, Tracy Lawrence, George Strait, Josh Turner, Keith Urban, Tim McGraw, Martina McBride, Steve Wariner and Lee Ann Womack.
