Actually, I have no idea what you are doing here. Firstly, what do you mean by "where the neck starts?" Are you referring to the end closest to the sound hole and the bridge, the neck at the nut or neck / body joint? There are individual differences among brands and models of guitars and no "normal size" width neck or standard for this.
