Learn Guitar Scales Fast

Really want to be able to play Metal and Fast Play guitar?

then I have two years playing, and I can do all the basics, all the chords and scales and my hammer-ons and pull and they are fast, but I really want to go back to play metal, and playing fast and sweeping. and I was just wondering if they are all techniques that I could do on guitar, guitar outside the small things I can do to increase speed, and there is a good site (s) that help, and specific lessons and techniques I could learn, I'm really determinations that I want to be like Synyster Gates:) pleasepleaseplease, lots and lots of info:)

Well, as a guy who spent 32 years touring as a professional guitarist, I can say that speed is not everything. But I'm so very fast. I would scales and learn to be quick, no special effects first. Too many guys "think" they are fast, they can run up and down the neck with the distortion of the total. Which actually covers a lot of mistakes. So learn to be quick with a "sound" clean "first to know where you are making mistakes and correct them. Then go to the distortion. Make sure you learn to use the little finger on his neck. You amazed how much you can make using the four fingers instead of three, as the rockers do. Run scales up and down the strings up and down the neck first using the first and third fingers, then after you get comfortable with it, do it again with the second and fourth fingers. Breaking that fourth finger is tough, but when you start, you will not regret it.
