Tremolo arms can be used to create a variety of sounds of music:

• Vibrato, when they are pulled up and down
• Pitch Bend, when pulled and held in one direction
• Behavior, when his whammy bar is used to slide between pitches

To make a throw down with his bow whammy bar:

• Fold a note down on fret board
• Point your whammy bar directly to the head
• Play a note and then slide the bar down toward the guitar body.

To make a pitch bend up with the tremolo arm:

• Fold a note on the fret board up.
• If you have a Fender or Bigsby bridge, the point whammy bar to the bottom of his guitar (from the head). Then play the note and push down on the whammy bar
• If you have a floating bridge, leave your whammy bar pointing a comfortable angle, and pull up the bar.

To play a note with vibrato tremolo arm, you must have an Electric Guitar with a floating bridge. Some types of guitars (Fender style bridge or Bigsby style) will be ruined by pulling up on the whammy bar.

• Play a note
• Move the tremolo arm back and forth quickly to create a tremendous effect

You will find that using your tremolo arm, often causes the strings to go out of tune. Using a guitar with Floyd Rose locking tremolo arm will correct this problem, but you can also help prevent the problem of doping in the area where the rest of the string nut. You can lubricate the nut with one of two methods:

• Buy a tube of "Nut Sauce" in a hardware store guitar, and apply a bit of rest during the string nut, as shown in the tube.
• Remove the strings from the nut, and use a soft pencil greylead the 'color' the string rests. The link will lubricate the nut.
