guitar effects and PA?

Until now, my advice is composed of a behringer "ultra metal" distortion pedal, Digitech Bad Monkey "Tube, chorus, MXR EQ and digital delay ibanez, in that order. When I run it through my amp (roland little 30W practice amps) sounds great. However, when I try to run it through a PA, just sounds really hollow and fragile. Od A monkey has a bad output amplifier modeling designed to go straight to a PA, and when I use it sounds a little better but still not great. Is there anything I can do to make the amplified sound w / out dragging over my amplifier and micing it or using the line out? I know I can mic it, but there is a way of getting it out of my sound card w / out dragging along the amplifier or using some cheasy crap digital (line 6)

I think your question is how to get the sound you want without having to carry your amp with you. A good PA should be able to reproduce what you're listening to your amplifier. I suggest you use your amp, get a good mic and you should be fine! I recommend the Sennheiser e609. Great microphone sounds. Now, if you DO NOT want to bring your amp, there are a lot of guitar "modelers" out there, like the Line 6 POD Pro ect ...
