How to play songs from The Runaways on guitar?
I play guitar and I love the band The Runaways, but I can not find any videos or sites internet showing me how to play any of their songs. Any links, videos, music books, or anything good, except I can not view tabs. I can only read the notes and regular chords. Video tutorials are better, but nothing else is good. I also wonder what kind of guitar Joan / Lita used and other things like humbuckers or sequences of special characters. thanks. What is the difference between humbuckers and pickups?
Joan is identified with an old Gibson Melody Maker, which was allegedly given to her by Eric Carmen of the Raspberries. In interviews, she mentions that the bridge pickup on the guitar was called the Velvet Hammer. They are still available today (www.velvethammerpickups.com). Gibson also sells a Joan Jett signature Melody Maker model now. Lita Ford was seen mainly play guitar BC Rich, at least, after she went solo. Amps ... they used what was provided to them. Marshalls for the most part, but when they visited the amplifiers were supplied by local prosecutors. Finally, a humbucker is a pickup. At the risk of getting technical, a humbucker pickup has two coils of wire wound and connected, so it cancels any noise or interference that can be received by the collector. The single coil pickup (like a Fender start style guitar) does not, and so will more noise and hum. The two types of pickups sound very different. The single coil sound is a thinner, brighter.
