Guitar Instruction Books

There are instruction books for all types of guitar playing. The way the instruction is given varies between different genera with the teaching of music theory for guitar remaining the same for all styles.

A book of instructions for classical guitar students take the theory straight into simple parts, graduating to more guitar music without learning complex chord shapes and improvisation. A jazz instruction book, on the other hand, is chockablock with guitar chords and exotic scales. A rock or blues guitar instruction book will take you through such springboards for improvisation such as pentatonic scales and chord CAGED system.
